This February Thetas from all over Orange County gathered at the Irvine Marriott to celebrate the founding of the Fraternity, 144 years ago in 1870. This years brunch was organized by the Orange Country Alumnae Chapter, (well really by our lovely president Paula), and if we may say so ourselves, it was an absolute success!
One of the joys of Founders Day, is being reminded of where we as an organization came from, and where we are going. The juxtaposition of honoring Bettie Locke, Alice Allen, Bettie Tipton, and Hannah Fitch and hearing the CEOs of Eta Sigma (Chapman University) and Epsilon Sigma (University of California Irvine) speaking about the progress and developments at their respective chapters is a wonderful way for us to reconnect with what makes us Thetas. We also took some time out to recognize Theta Alumnae who have spent 25 plus years as active members! Way to go ladies!
Yet, this wouldn’t have been a meeting of Theta’s without us doing a little good! During the brunch donations were collected in support of the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation. We accomplished a lot over eggs and coffee!
